The event will take place on Barack Field opposite Woolwich Barracks and will start with a Procession from Woolwich Town Centre at 9.30 am led by the Band of the Grenadier Guards and the RAF Cadets Band. There will be a Parade and inspection on Barrack Field.
The event will involve a large military village with equipment and soldiers, a parade of classic cars, a football competition organised by Charlton Athletic, a funfair, and a variety of performances on the main Stage with continuous acts from 11am to9pm. A special veterans area is being arranged in the semi-ruined Garrison Church just across Grand Depot Road. It will be a large-scale event ( last year we had 7,500 visitors and are hoping for more this year.) There will be many food and drinks outlets, a craft market and a community marquee with stalls representing local organisations and charities.
The event is being jointly organised by the Army and the local community and should be a great day out for the whole family.
