This is an opportunity for the Armed Forces Community and wider members of the public from York and its surrounding area, to come together over a couple of football matches and celebrate the historic bonds the military have with the city. There will be static display stalls from third sector organisations, Regimental Associations, Cadets, the Emergency Services and the the local Armed Forces Recruitment Centre. Reserve and Regular units will be invited to provide stalls as well. Once inside the stadium there will be two matches (one ladies and one gents), with opposing sides resourced from the Armed Forces Community and York and North Yorkshire Police Force. It is planned to provide entertainment at key intervals (half time and between matches) in the form of brass bands and hopefully some aerial displays (funding allowing). The stadium will be opening concession stalls to allow spectators to purchase food and drinks on site.
